The Spryfield & District Farmers Market is largely dependent on the kindness and generosity of our volunteer base. Each market week, we require a team of dedicated volunteers to help make the magic happen.
If you want to help make our farmers’ market the best in the city, and have some time and energy to do so, we’d love to hear from you. We will try our best to match your interests with our needs.
Market Opening - Market day is a busy time. Each market requires 20-40 tables and chairs to be moved around, and signs placed outdoors, all between 7:00-7:30AM. Tear down happens quickly 12:00 Noon until 12:30 and includes tidying garbage and sweeping floors.
Kids' Activity Table - We're looking for a creative someone to occasionally run the kids' activity table from 8:30AM - 11:30AM. Painting, drawing, collage, you name it! Face-painting skills are an asset.
Music Coordinator - We love having music at the market, and it would be great to have someone to coordinate the bi-weekly performances and buskers.
Social Media Contributors - Creating and maintaining a following is no easy endeavor! We're looking for a few individuals who have a passion for building an online community, seeking out interesting content, and using their skills to promote buying local using #spryfieldmarket.
Photographers - We would love some help capturing the market-in-action! These images would go a long way to support the promotion of the market both online and in print. And of course, photographers will always receive credit for their work.
Poster / Flyer Distribution - Each week during market season, a few days prior to market day, posters and/or flyers may need to be distributed to businesses and community bulletin boards. Volunteers are needed to help with distribution.
